Nigerians evacuated from U.S

Consul General of Nigeria In New York, Hon. Benaoyagha Okoyen and staff of the Nigerian mission in the United States were present at the Newark Liberty International Airport on Saturday to bid farewell to Nigerian citizens who were being evacuated from the United States.

Also at the airport was President of the United Nations General Assembly, Amb. Tijjani Muhammad-Bande, OFR, whose presence was a big boost for the Nigerian nationals. Bande has served as President since September 17th, 2019. He is also the Nigerian Ambassador to the United Nations. 

In his address to the citizens at the airport, Okoyen briefed them on what to expect upon arrival in Nigeria while urging them to be good ambassadors on the flight. Ethiopian airlines flight ET 8509 is flying non-stop to Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja carrying 160 passengers and eight infants on board.
