On Wednesday in Havana, Ambassador Benaoyagha Okoyen presented his Letters of Credence as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to His Excellency, Miguel Mario Diaz-Canel Bermudez, the President of the Republic of Cuba.
Nigeria and Cuba established diplomatic relations in July, 1974.Prior to his appointment in Cuba by President Muhammadu Buhari, Ambassador Okoyen served as Nigeria’s Consul general in New York.
In this posting, Amb. Okoyen will serve as Nigeria’s Ambassador to Cuba, with concurrent accreditation to Bahamas, Honduras and Nicaragua.
